Giving support to your friends is easy peasy. You share interests with them, you get along and eventually they become your sisters for life. You’ll be always there for them and them will always be there for you.
What is not easy is to see strangers as your peers. To actually acknowledge that they are your sisters as well.
Feminism calls, feminism yells “WOMEN UNITE” and let’s be honest, it’s not an easy task.
We are an heterogeneous movement, full of different struggles and different views on how to fight our oppression. It’s a huge challenge to overcome those differences and support each other no matter what.
Of course, these differences are key to the movement, if our feminism is not intersectional it’s not even feminism. But if you just laid your helping hand only to women like you with a similar background it wont be enough.
